1. Pre-arrival

Staying in Anguilla Details

All persons returning to Anguilla are required to provide a negative COVID-19 PCR test conducted within 3-5 days prior to arrival date.

All persons are required to provide insurance which covers COVID-19 medical costs and full hospitalization, doctors’ visits, prescriptions and air ambulance.

After receiving this information, documents will be verified and you will be contacted if any additional information is required.

An electronic travel authorization certificate will be issued to your email address if your application was successful.

Persons are urged to adhere to all safety protocols as established by airlines and vessels on your journey to Anguilla

Persons are expected to take preventive measures to protect themselves and others from infection during travel: washing of hands and/or use of hand sanitizer regularly; avoiding touching common surfaces, avoid touching of face (eyes, mouth and nose) with unwashed hands; maintaining a physical distance of at least three feet/ one metre from others…

The use of mask is required on vessels to Anguilla and in other spaces and areas where persons cannot maintain a physical distance of at least 1 metre/ 3 feet from others.

Provide a hardcopy of your negative COVID-19 PCR test result to a port health official.

Undergo a mandatory COVID-19 PCR test and health screening on arrival.

Use masks during transit through ports of entry (airport and seaport) and en route to your pre-approved accommodations.

Be transferred to your accommodations to await test results – this will be prearranged.

Remain quarantined at your approved location for at least 10 days.

Undergo regular health monitoring.

Obtain a negative PCR COVID-19 test to be released from quarantine.

Home schooling

The process for home schooling

All non-resident applicants must apply via the Department of Immigration. The parent(s) of the child/children will need to complete an application form to attend school in Anguilla. Documents needed (Immunization Record, School Reports).

Once approval is provided for them to attend school in Anguilla – the Department of Education will have them complete a Home Schooling Application – if a private institution is their referred choice.

1. Is the airport open?

The airport is currently closed to regular traffic. However, Anguilla is accepting approved visitors through an online application process.

A negative PCR test taken three to five days before arrival is an absolute requirement before receiving approval to travel to Anguilla. The website is constantly monitored, so once the test is done within the specified timeframe, entry permission certificates will be issued up to the day of travel. Failing that, approval would not be granted and your trip would have to be rescheduled.

Hotels/villas are encouraged to implement flexible cancellation policies. However, each visitor must familiarize himself/herself with the cancellation policy of the property at which they intend to stay.

The typical turnaround time for a test is less than two hours. Results are available within 24 hours.

Visitors are free to move around the island without restrictions only after a second negative test on Day 10 or Day 14 of their visit. Visitors staying less than 10 or 14 days will be required to stay in place for the duration of the visit.

Visitors remaining for more than five days are required to undergo at least two tests on the island – one upon arrival and one at the end of their stay in place period. This is to ensure that persons are COVID free before they are free to move around the island without restrictions.

A visitor who tests positive on arrival may be allowed to remain in isolation at his approved accommodation if he/she is asymptomatic or is experiencing mild symptoms that do not require management at a medical facility. He/she will be managed by the health team, which will include monitoring of symptoms, hospital transfer if necessary, and subsequent medical clearance.

A visitor who tests positive while in Anguilla may be allowed to remain in isolation at his/her approved accommodation if he/she is asymptomatic or is experiencing mild symptoms that do not require management at a medical facility. He/she will be managed by the health team, which will include monitoring of symptoms, hospital transfer if necessary, and subsequent medical clearance.

It is unlikely that a visitor who tests positive will be able to leave the island before medical clearance of the infection unless as medical evacuation, covered under their COVID-19 insurance policy.

All visitors are required to have a negative PCR test for COVID-19, taken three to five days before the date of arrival in Anguilla. Approval is granted subject to a negative result. All visitors are required to undergo a PCR test upon arrival to Anguilla and at the end of their stay in place period, to ensure that they are COVID-19 free. The stay in place period is 10 days for visitors coming from areas of low prevalence (less than 0.2%) of COVID-19 and 14 days for visitors coming from areas of high prevalence (more than0.2%). Visitors staying less than 10 or 14 days will be required to stay in place for the duration of the visit.

Based on the current epidemiological situation, the stay in place period for US travelers is 14 days and for Canadian travelers, 10 days. This may change based on the epidemiological situation.

Transfers are being handled by certified ground transportation operators. Capacity and seating will depend on the ability to ensure social distancing for visitors/passengers who are not traveling in groups or a family unit.

Yes, during your Stay In Place period you can only dine at the accommodation’s restaurant(s). During this time, you can also choose from available in room/delivery service menus. You may order takeout from other restaurants that are offering takeout service and have it delivered to your villa or hotel.

Yes, you can have someone deliver groceries or meals to your hotel or villa.

Yes, once the protocols are followed you can hire a chef to prepare your meals.

Yes, each approved accommodation has its standard operating procedures as it relates to housekeeping and cleaning.

Beach access during the stay in place period varies by property. Please check with your accommodation property regarding the onsite options. Masks are not required on the beach. However social distancing of at least 1 meter must be maintained at all times, for persons who are not within the same group.

Ferry Service between Anguilla and St Martin (French) has been discontinued until further notice. However, from November 1, 2020, Charter and Shuttle service will be available for boat transfer to/from St. Maarten via the Anguilla-St. Maarten Ferry Terminal. Reservations are required.

Airport transfers to the Ferry will be handled as per the protocols instituted for Taxis on St Maarten.

This will vary according to the passenger capacity of the Ferry.

Testing will be done upon arrival at Blowing Point Ferry Terminal, Anguilla.
