Staying in Anguilla Details

All persons returning to Anguilla are required to provide a negative COVID-19 PCR test conducted within 3-5 days prior to arrival date.

All persons are required to provide insurance which covers COVID-19 medical costs and full hospitalization, doctors’ visits, prescriptions and air ambulance.

After receiving this information, documents will be verified and you will be contacted if any additional information is required.

An electronic travel authorization certificate will be issued to your email address if your application was successful.

Persons are urged to adhere to all safety protocols as established by airlines and vessels on your journey to Anguilla

Persons are expected to take preventive measures to protect themselves and others from infection during travel: washing of hands and/or use of hand sanitizer regularly; avoiding touching common surfaces, avoid touching of face (eyes, mouth and nose) with unwashed hands; maintaining a physical distance of at least three feet/ one metre from others…

The use of mask is required on vessels to Anguilla and in other spaces and areas where persons cannot maintain a physical distance of at least 1 metre/ 3 feet from others.

Provide a hardcopy of your negative COVID-19 PCR test result to a port health official.

Home schooling

The process for home schooling

All non-resident applicants must apply via the Department of Immigration. The parent(s) of the child/children will need to complete an application form to attend school in Anguilla. Documents needed (Immunization Record, School Reports).

Once approval is provided for them to attend school in Anguilla ‚Äď the Department of Education will have them complete a Home Schooling Application ‚Äď if a private institution is their referred choice.

1. Is the airport open?

The airport is currently open to pre-approved travelers. Visitors desirous of visiting Anguilla must complete our travel request form via www.ivisitanguilla.com/escape.

A negative PCR test taken three to five days before arrival is an absolute requirement before receiving approval to travel to Anguilla. The website is constantly monitored, so once the test is done within the specified timeframe, entry permission certificates will be issued up to the day of travel. Failing that, approval would not be granted and your trip would have to be rescheduled.

Hotels/villas are encouraged to implement flexible cancellation policies. However, each visitor must familiarize himself/herself with the cancellation policy of the property at which they intend to stay.

The typical turnaround time for a test is less than two hours. Results are available within 24 hours.

Visitors are free to move around the island without restrictions only after a second negative test on Day 10 or Day 14 of their visit. Visitors staying less than 10 or 14 days can participate in our guided movement period. This period allows visitors to use Safe Environment Approved ground transportation to visit Safe Environment Certified restaurants and Safe Environment Approved Activities on island.

Visitors remaining for more than five days are required to undergo at least two tests on the island ‚Äď one upon arrival and one¬†at the end of their¬†stay in place¬†period. This is¬†to ensure that persons are COVID free before they are free to move around the island without restrictions.

A visitor who tests positive on arrival may be allowed to remain in isolation at his approved accommodation if he/she is asymptomatic or is experiencing mild symptoms that do not require management at a medical facility. He/she will be managed by the health team, which will include monitoring of symptoms, hospital transfer if necessary, and subsequent medical clearance.

A visitor who tests positive while in Anguilla may be allowed to remain in isolation at his/her approved accommodation if he/she is asymptomatic or is experiencing mild symptoms that do not require management at a medical facility. He/she will be managed by the health team, which will include monitoring of symptoms, hospital transfer if necessary, and subsequent medical clearance.

It is unlikely that a visitor who tests positive will be able to leave the island before medical clearance of the infection unless as medical evacuation, covered under their COVID-19 insurance policy.

All visitors are required to have a negative PCR test for COVID-19, taken three to five days before the date of arrival in Anguilla. Approval is granted subject to a negative result. All visitors are required to undergo a PCR test upon arrival to Anguilla and at the end of their stay in place period, to ensure that they are COVID-19 free. The stay in place period is 10 days for visitors coming from areas of low prevalence (less than 0.2%) of COVID-19 and 14 days for visitors coming from areas of high prevalence (more than 0.2%). Visitors staying less than 10 or 14 days will only be allowed to move around the island through the guided movement system.

Guests staying at a beachfront property can enjoy the beach there in the presence of a beach warden/attendant. You are permitted to dine out but only at ‚ÄúSafe Environment Certified‚ÄĚ restaurants. However, reservations must be made by your property‚Äôs concierge and transportation to and from the restaurant can only be provided by a ‚ÄúSafe Environment Certified‚ÄĚ ground tour operator. Visits to stores are not permitted.

No, Anguilla does not have arrangements with airlines for coronavirus testing before flight departure.

No, visits to other islands are not allowed during your visit to Anguilla. Yes, each island has different protocols.

Ferry Service between Anguilla and St Martin (French) has been discontinued until further notice. However, from November 1, 2020, Charter and Shuttle service will be available for boat transfer to/from St. Maarten via the Anguilla-St. Maarten Ferry Terminal. Reservations are required.

Airport transfers to the Ferry will be handled as per the protocols instituted for Taxis on St Maarten.

This will vary according to the passenger capacity of the Ferry.

Testing will be done upon arrival at Blowing Point Ferry Terminal, Anguilla.

As it relates to the testing and quarantine protocol, it is the same as for other visitors once they intend to enter Anguilla.

PCR testing is also conducted on children. However, the swab is taken through the mouth (oropharyngeal swabbing). This is especially for babies and children less than five years of age.

A period in which protocols are used to guide and facilitate ALL movements of a visitor on island. This applies to visitors who are on property (hotels/villas etc.) for less than 10-14 days. Due to their short stay will not get the opportunity to receive medical clearance and as such will not be able to explore the island at will.

This is a 10-14 day period in which movements are restricted to a private dwelling. This applies to all who received approval. This can only occur if your property has been Safe Environment Certified.

This certification is ONLY awarded to properties and restaurants which have received specific training and have met the requirements put in place by the Ministry of Health and whose protocols have been approved.

This certification is ONLY awarded to Services/activities which received training and or attended sensitizing seminars and whose operating protocols have been approved.

An independent restaurant can be included when they become Safe Environment Certified. Guests in the Guided Movement period are not allowed to mingle with local patrons therefore, it is recommended that Safe Environment Certified restaurants specify what days they want to serve Guided Guests and what days they want to serve locals.

The fees cover two tests per person, surveillance and the cost associated with the additional public health presence.
